    First rat success!

So I've had this little girl for almost a year and she has been on mice the entire time. Decided to try a rat for the first time today and she took it so quick I almost didn't even get it recorded!

    Congrats on your rat!
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

    Re: First rat success!

Lol thanks. After creeping around on this forum and Facebook for so long and seeing what other people have gone through to switch over to rats, I figured I'd have a hard time also

I haven't had a hard time switching to rats. I try to get mine on small rats quick, because I know I can stay at that size prey for a long time. I've got two 1100g+ feeding on mediums and two 400g+ feeding on small rats. As long as it moves, they're happy .
    1.0 Normal 1100g
    1.0 Normal 400g
    1.0 Orange Ghost 450g
    1.0 Albino 1400g

    Normals are beautiful too .

Congrats! I know it feels good. Might want to consider feeding in their enclosure. Its much better for the snake. Cage aggression is a myth.

I read somewhere that it's not good to feed snakes in their cage because they could swallow flakes of their bedding and that can be unhealthy for them?

I feed her in a separate container and in her cage. Makes no difference to her but she takes food quicker in a separate bin. My male I always feed in the cage.

If they don't spit it out first, they will digest substrate. They digest bones, fur, and guts lol.
