    Question About My BPs Eyes

Sorry its a huge photo. Dont know how to fix. My BPs eyes are a strange color. I recognize the eyes are a part of some of their morphs, is there something up with her eyes though?

Or she could be about to shed. Are you monitoring the humidity in your enclosure?

Looks like your snake is in the shedding process, the eyes should look like a milky blue

I've only had had her a week. So I don't know her last shed. And yes I monitor the humidity. I haven't bothered her much since I've had her because she never leaves her hide. I pulled her out today to check on her though and that's how her eyes were. I don't recall them being that way when I got her. There is no other sign of shedding though. So I will pay more attention for that.

Usually when the eyes cloud up like that it is pre-shed time. Try to bump your humidity up to 70 if possible or add damp spagham moss inside the hides.

They will normally find a spot and stay there with little or no movement for 5-7 days. It's best just to leave them alone.

You will notice the skin darken up yet maybe chalky in places.

Usually on day 5,6,or7 of no movement is when they shed.

Now it is always posible to have a false positive too. That is when they have the signs of shedding and don't shed. The signs may start over in a week, month, or two months.
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

Just responded to your last post. Considering all the info your snake is ready to shed. Soaking is normal at this point. Try a humid hide.

Re: Question About My BPs Eyes

    Update...

Ok, so she was definately shedding. I actually hadn't seen her since the day I posted originally until today. I was checking temperatures and whatnot and found her lounging on top of a vine at the top of the enclosure. I put some damp moss in her hide but she hasn't gone back in it. My question is should I spray her with something to help the shed? Like I said shes been in her hide for 4 days so I'm assuming her skin isn't very moist. I can see pieces of shedded skin around her hide, little small pieces, i think from around her face, but otherwise its all in tact on her body. i guess i'm trying to figure what i should be doing if anything. my books dont go in detail very well. lol.

Re: Question About My BPs Eyes

Pre soaking and spraying can actually rinse off the natural oils they produce, which helps them shed. Keep the humidity up and only soak if it's a bad shed, and after he has gotten off as much as he can. There's a bad shed sticky I believe. Might be in the husbandry section
