From all i have read on this forum nothing will make you money right away. It's going to take years to actually see a profit. And you won't always sell all the babies right away either. I have not produced any snakes yet but everybody says to work with what you like because you will most likely end up keeping some of those babies anyway. If you are in it for money you are in the wrong place. That being said you will need to find a female with as many genes as you can afford in order to get some cool stuff. What morphs do you like?

a normal or a $20k het. Scaleless...
Seriously though, that's the wrong question to ask. Everyone here will tell you to breed for what you like not what is gonna make you the most money. Doesn't matter what you breed your Pastel to, it won't make you rich.

The great thing about Pastel is that it's one of those morphs that makes most other ones look pretty great. Find another morph that you really like and see what happens when you combine them. I can only echo what others have already said, there's no quick moneymaking in BP breeding. You'll be lucky to break even the first few years. And any morphs that will help you make a profit, are expensive to begin with. So you'll have to break even on the price of the dam before you even see any profit from potential babies.

You'll get the most money out of it by not breeding it. If you still want to breed with the understanding that you will lose money doing so* (and there's absolutely nothing wrong with this... it can be an incredible experience), you should pick whatever female helps you work towards a morph you'd like to own.
*I'm making the assumption you don't already have housing, feeders, and potential customers for your hatchlings. If you do already have racks, an incubator, your own rodent colony, and customers patiently waiting for the third meal to take, then yes you will be able to help cover some of the overhead on the above.

How much are you wanting to spend on a female?

first off, it is never a good idea to breed a less expensive male to a more expensive female. it should be the other way around. as for making money of the male you have, get a spider and make bumble bees..but like most have already said, the investment is more than the returns for that single male you have..so best is to grow in the hobby, and build a love hate relation first.

A male pastel won't be making you money. If you breed him, it will be for enjoyment, it will more than likely cost you more money than you will be able to sell offspring for.

What will make you the most money? A 5 to 6 genes female or a het scaleless female. the problem is NO one would breed a 5 to 6 gene female to a pastel, just like no one would breed a het scaleless female to a pastel male.
No one would breed a 1K to 50K female to a $50 male.
So as far as money goes, well you are not gonna make money out of a pastel male, you won't break even, you'll get in the red.
