BP biting at everything

I've had my BP for about a year now, and he's around 3 years old. When I got him (November 2014) he ate twice, stopped for a couple months, and just recently started eating again. I fed him a bunch to make up for the 3-5 months he didn't eat over the winter. The issue now is that he seems extra irritable, or just that he's super hungry (even though he's eaten a lot) and possibly thinks everything is food. I've seen him strike at his water bowl once when I blew into the tank (to dislodge a piece of substrate on the side of the waterbowl, so it wouldn't get in), and has bitten the bed before when I took him out to let him move around a bit. I'm much, much too afraid to pick him up now, as I'm afraid he'll mistake me as food and bite me. He's never had this issue before, and tolerated being held and handled just fine even while he was off feed. Now he just seems pissy. Is there any way to remedy this?

Sounds to me like he is still in feed mode. Leave him alone for a day or two. He will snap out of it.
Unless you think another meal is not over doing it.

When my girl goes on an eating binge which is rare, I determine when to cut her off. She will still go into a strike position and charge me when I am around. If I stay completely away from her for about 24 hrs, she snaps out of feed mode.

Kind of like a stoner with the munchies.

What are you feeding him and how often? Why are you trying to "make up" for him not eating? Is he really thin? Sometimes they go on feeding strikes and that's perfectly ok.

Yes, he was really thin, so I've been feeding him some more to try and get him back up to a healthy weight.

Even when left alone for two weeks straight, just to try and give him some time to maybe snap out of feeding mode, he went right back into it after eating. I fed him yesterday, and a silly thing happened. I accidentally rubbed the mouse against the side of the tub, and after moving it away, he decided he wanted to strike the side of the tub where the mouse was, before I just put it (frozen/thawed) on the bottom, he just struck at it slow as possible.

He's being fed large mice and I'm probably going to move him up to small rats soon.

How much does he weigh? At 3 years he should definitely be on rats if he'll go. Or at least multiple mice I would think.
