Re: Children's vs Spotted! Picture Heavy!
I do see the difference, but the markings on mine are the same as pics I've seen, even the head stamp.

I still say spotted as well, or possibly a mix of the two, but in no way does that look like any childreni that I have seen. Did you email the contact that I gave you in the PM with a picture?
Here is 15 pages of antaresia with pictures of both. Again I agree with Lefty, the pattern is too dark and the eyes are a pretty big giveaway...

In my opinion yes, the color of the eyes and how dark and contrasted the pattern is on the body. Childreni tend to be more washed out. Even as a hatchling mine was not that dark.

yep, the eye color. and as stated above, the darkness of the pattern. just look at the color contrast between yours and mine. my examples are pretty standard childreni. your snake is a beauty, just think its a spotted. either way, be happy. Anteresia are so under rated. you will love that little guy.

Re: Children's vs Spotted! Picture Heavy!
Alright, I'll let it be, and agree that it's a spotted python.
It is a beauty for sure. My Co worker said it would bite him all the time, but not me... I've been holding it 4 days a week and even put it through a stressful photoshoot, with no aggression.

Mine is only nippy in his cage, if I reach in there I will get bit, once he is out no issues, he is very calm. I have noticed mine will go through mood swings too depending on the time of the year. As Lefty said Antaresia is a lot of fun to work with and tends to be under rated. I love mine, you get the attitude/personality of a big snake in a really compact package, and if you provide them with a large cage they will be very active; and IMO make a nice display animal. Mine is constantly on the move, perches up on his branches and every time I put fresh water in his bowl he goes straight for it. I put a branch right over his water bowl so he will climb up and then drop his head down towards it.
