    Feeding issue..

So I am going on 3 months now, and my African ball python isn't interested in food at all, in fact I have never gotten him to eat at all since I got him. Sadly, I don't have a scale at the moment, it's on order. Anyway, was told the snake was on live rats, and I have been offering him live rats once a week now for those 3 months, and it seems as if he is scared of the food and jumps back and tries to get away from it. I even got a mouse with no success.

He has a hide, good temps in his enclosure, had a shed about 2 months ago and also at the same time pooped.

I also noticed he is kinda flakey on the bottom, like he has some loose scales, not the smooth texture I am used to. I always keep him with water and a hide.

So I am at a loss, what say you?

One hide? He needs two or more. One on the hot side and side and one on the cool side.

What are your temps, humidity. Enclosure type and size? How old is your ball python? Have you tried frozen thaw?

Well this morning before enclosure cleaning I attempted a feeding and bam, he struck at a live rat pup in less than 30 seconds. Good kill and swallow. I did take some advise and added a second hide. I use in tank thermometers, going to get a temp gun here off amazon tomorrow.

i did get a new tank setup today for him after his feeding too. Will post pics in a bit
