    Nippy

I have a clown hatchling and he strikes at my hands all the time. He didn't do it until he got his first food. Will this last long or is there a way to break him of this? I've seen youtube video and tried it but still strikes. Is he still hungry since it was his first meal? Should I give him two hoppers a week? He is 51 grams. Thanks for any advice.

It's an hatchling it win be defensive for a while, they grow out of it as they put on weight.

Feed him well and leave him alone (limit your handling to maintenance)

A hatchling can eat every five days. Once the babies get up around 400-500 grams they can go once a week.

FWIW I've found my nippiest babies are usually the best eaters.

I agree with you here. I have babies that strike 8" out of their 6qt tubs anytime I open. The rats never touch the ground; instead they are snatched out of the air, or my hand!
