Rack Questions
Hey guys, I am thinking about getting my first snake rack soon. First question do you think a 31 quart tubs are fine for an adult female or should I go with the next size up? Second, can I use my Hydrofarm thermostats on the rack system or should I make the jump and buy a Herpstat. Finally I have heard a lot on this one, back or belly heat?

Re: Rack Questions
For adult females, I would recommend the typical 41 qt rack (V-70, etc). I strongly recommend a proportional thermostat for a rack, so I'd spring for the Herpstat. Lastly, for adults I'd go for belly heat.

I am not sure I have the money for a herpstat yet so can I use my Hydrofarm thermostats until I have the money? I don't know if this is important but each tub would have its own Hydrofarm thermostat because I have multiple.

Hydrofarms are certainly better than nothing, yes. Also, racks typically only have one run of heat tape so there's usually not a need (and no purpose) for multiple thermostats.

FYI - here is a shot of my adult female Spider in a 32 qt tub. "Itty bitty living space!"
