How will it harm your cat? Do you plan on letting the snake free roam your house. If housed in the proper escape proof enclosure then there will be no problems.my 10 foot carpet has yet to hurt my 15lb dog or cat..wanna know why? Now shhhhh this is a secret its locked in a cage that the cat and dog can't get in....and when I'm bring her out the cat and dog are in different rooms......problem solved

I understand but I'm paranoid. I lost my parrot because my uncle came over and let the dog in when the parrot was on his play pen. It was horrible and I never want a accident like that to ever happen again. I understand and agree with your logic but something could go wrong.

I highly recommend BRB's. Mine is a yearling so I can't speak to adult strength/size, but mine is my favorite of my snakes to handle. Very active and interesting to watch, and of course they're beautiful.

I have both and I adore them. My male boa is so laid back and confident. He's my favorite snake. My BRB is a bit more nervous but she is still very young. Keeping the humidity up is a pain.

I have this guy who I so happen to think is a looker and quite friendly too. I like calm friendly snakes that are personable that you can hold. That is why a Redtail interests me more than the rainbow.

If you don't have her in a tub, I highly recommend it. I had a lot of trouble with humidity when she was in a glass tank, and since I put her in my rack I've barely had to mist and the humidity stays very high.

I have her in half a t8. I just spray it everyday, but sometimes I forget and it can dry out. It's just annoying.

OP I think you should get a male red tail BCI. You will end up with a very manageable 5-6 foot easy going snake.

He is absolutely gorgeous!

I have two red tails as well, and I love them just as much as my BRB. They are definitely more chill. My male is the laziest snake I've ever seen. Our joke when we have them out together is "oh look, Scarlet's exploring x object!... And Jack is taking a nap."

IMO, you shouldn't let your fear of your snake harming your cat keep you from getting the species you really want. But obviously you can only do what you're comfortable with.

The brightest red comes from the true BCCs, not BCIs. Again, BCCs are going to get a bit bigger, and for a quality snake you might be looking at 400$+. If you google search boa morphs there at some nice sites that describe all the genetic morphs. Sunglows get some amazing oranges, albinos and lipstick albinos are also pretty affordable and gorgeous. Personally I like the darker boas, so I go for motley and anery more.
