Getting ready to order a couple T8's

One for my ball python and the other for my daughters corn snake. Reading through the info here it seems a T8 will actually house two full grown adult BP's with a divider correct? Daughter and I both want to pick up a couple female BP's so hopefully these two cages would work perfect.

A divided t8 seems small for a full grown adult BP.... Just looking at my 1500 gram male in his t8 makes me think he would be very cramped if his cage was cut in half.

Thanks, yea I really kinda wondered as it sounded kinda small to me as well. I'll stick to my original plan and go with one for my snake and another for daughters and skip the dividers for now. We can put our baby females in our current ten gallon tanks and then just get two more T8's later on. It's pretty cool in my den in the basement so I don't think a rack system would work.

I had considered dividing it also but I drew it out on my floor and decided no way lol my female is only 500 grams right now but when she gets up there in age and weight there was no way I could see keeping her in half of a t8. T

Re: Getting ready to order a couple T8's

We just received our two T-10's and are waiting for the sealant to cure. Our plans are to put the bumblebee in her own T10 and for now house the two males in one with a divider. They've got a lot more growing to do; the pied is 350 grams and the black pastel is about 280; the pied will be a year old in August and the black pastel will be a year old in September. Eventually we'll look into getting another T10 but we've got some time before we need it.

It was well worth the wait; we ordered the tanks mid-March and just got them last week.

    0.1 Bumblebee (Bumble)
    1.0 Pastel Genetic Stripe. (Ozzy)

Thanks, yea I'll skip the divider. My male is a little over 300 grams now and I'm sure it may feel kinda huge for him at first but Ill fill in some plants and hides and he should be fine until he gets bigger.

Thanks for the help, Reading through the sticky thread actually confused me more on this, but I knew I wanted to go with AP after reading through it.

Not sure why you would order 2 T8s for a corn and ball python. That is waaaay overkill. Think about it this way. A standard for large female balls is a 41 qt tub. A corn would be a 32 or 28. The 41 is the biggest so we will use that one. The floor space in it is like 31x12. Without doing any math split a T8 in half that is 48x12. Obviously you split it the other way though so it is 24x24. That makes it bigger then the standard big tub used for balls in floor space. For those that check my homework lol The measurement on the website for the tub they give will be like 38x17 that is the top not the useable floor space the tub slants up on the sides.

Given the opportunity most snakes will utilize a larger cage, just because people cramp snakes in small bins doesn't mean you have too.
