Half log hides are usually not recommended because they have two openings and may make your ball python feel insecure.

I wasn't able to find hides big enough for my boa, so what I did was go out and purchase a huge circular rubbermaid storage tub. I used a soldering iron to cut out an entrance (made sure it was dull) and then siliconed fake huge leaves from the dollar store onto it. It's cheap and looks really nice! Just an idea
