Keeping Mold out of humid cages?

I can't help with the beetle question, but with my BRB's the only way I've found to deal with mold is to use 100% cypress mulch as substrate, plastic cage décor, and F10SC sprayed on a paper towel to wipe the glass surfaces if I see mold growing.
