Back or belly heat for hatching rack?

I'm building my 1st hatching rack for my egg that are hatching in two weeks. I know hatchlings dont need as hot of a hot spot as adults so do u think back heat or belly heat would be better. Rack is in a heat controlled room. Thanks for your for imput. rack is going to be 3 6qt tubs wide 12 rows high

All of mine (4) are commercial builds and have back heat. They all work just fine. I put aspen in them and when the BP's want to be warm they burrow under the aspen and lie against the back wall.

Belly heat is better in every way except one: its harder to build. My opinion is do it right and go with belly heat. I have pics if my hatchling rack i just built on my Instagram..

Either will be fine. If the room is kept warm enough you don't even need additional heat.

That's about what mine usually sits at. I've kept hatchlings in small tubs with no extra heat and they ate/pooped/shed/grew just fine.

Some of my buddy's do the same no heat tape for the first 4 months just ambient temp of 80. I think I'm going to run 3in flexwatt belly heat that way it's setup for any holdbacks. Thanks for your input tho guys

I use 11" back heat because it was easier with the 6qt tubs in a side by side rack.
