    Cutting small veins generally won't cause you any issues but it can be minimised by candling the eggs beforehand and marking the veins with a dull pencil line.

    Since you don't really want to make too large a cut anyway ( I use a V shape ) you shouldn't have a problem finding a site with no major veins.
