How often does your Ball Python poo??
Mine hasn't poo'd in 6 weeks. She is acting normal otherwise; eating, totally interactive, pee'ing, excreting urates, shedding...but she won't poo. I've tried giving her a warm bath but nothing. I'm worried At what point do I sound the alarms and take her to her Doctor?

This is something I was fearful about and looking into before I decided I could handle a BP - their excrement is not horrible like birds' (bird poo, UGH). However, I was reading that they generally "go" about as often as they eat (eat weekly, poo weekly, hence clean out the cage weekly) - is this not something to be super concerned about, if they're not having regular movements?

Re: How often does your Ball Python poo??
Nope! Mine usually go about every other feeding. If they are close to shedding they'll hold it even longer. Then I get a big present!!!!
I use an app called snake keeper that documents everything from feeding, weight, length, shedding, and poo!! After a short while you will start to see a "close" estimate at when to expect what. This changes pretty frequently with juveniles but can be pretty accurate for an adult. You can even export and e-mail yourself the statistics from the app. Most people don't do this, I just find it fun to go back and look at.

Ooo, that sounds a lot easier than trying to keep track of everything in a spreadsheet - I'm definitely going to check that out!! Thanks!

There is no set time frame for a ball python or most any snake to poo, they go when they need to go some times after being feed, sometimes not for weeks at a time.

How often does your Ball Python poo??
My 13 yr old BP goes during shed, every 51-60 days.
My 5 1/2 -6' Boa ((don't know the age) goes every 45 days or so.

The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

My BP just deposited his gift after 2 months. About 6 inches long and an inch diameter. I weighed my Monty a couple days ago, then I weighed him right after dropping a giant log.
Previous weight: 600G
just now: 555G.

This is the best bedframe for a snake keeper ever.
