I will also touch on this
In my experience cutting (sometimes too early) and messing with the eggs (checking on them) once cut will lead to tangled umbilicus. Tangles umbilicus are RARE the fact that you experienced this several times being new is not normal.
We only had 1 die from the tangled umbilical. The other 4 died from hard yolk (they were green eggs, which I posted about earlier.)
We never even cut the egg that died from the tangled umbilical. Just bad luck I suppose.

Re: Help! Hatchling tipped over and came out while still attached to umbilical cord!
By any chance, did you have any temperature fluctuations during incubation?
I'm not sure if that increases the odds of umbilical issues, but it can cause odd patterning, kind of like what that baby has.
Of course, I could be WAY off base, and it's just a cool aberrant enchi-something. Either way, it's a beautiful snake and I hope he makes it!

Aw, I'm sorry you lost him. I was really excited to see what he looked like out. These other two look great however!

I'm sorry to hear that you lost him.
In my fairly amateur opinion, I think you've identified them correctly. Beautiful little babies!
