Finding Her a Place to Live
Partner and I are thinking about adopting a rescue bp. She's two years old and affectionate but she'll be our first bp. We've got a four bedroom house with a roommate and our mother-in-law. So our two options for placing her terranium is the bedroom and office. Office is the best bet since it's got space to spare, I freelance so I'd be home to keep an eye on her, lots of room to regulate her habitat and all that. However, my partner also uses the space to work on his projects. He works with drills, paints, and so on.
Would potential paint fumes and excessive noise be a concern with our bp? We're getting a closed terrarium but I don't want to potentially harm her. We do have a sliding closet if that helps. Window is always open when he works on those kinds of projects too.
Let me know what you think.

Hi,
I think it would depend on what type of paint really.
I can't see the noise really being a problem though.

Hey, thanks. Paint is oil and acrylic by the way. He doesn't spray paint or anything in office but does do his hand painting in office. Noise won't be a problem though? Cool. Noise not constant. Besides my typing, it's normally pretty quiet in there.

Nope noise isnt an issue because snakes dont have hearing

I would go with the bedroom as ball pythons are typically shy and reclusive, and don't care much for watching activity around them.
Also, while it's true they don't "hear" like we do, they can feel vibrations.

Thanks everyone, by the way. Still sort of considering schematics. I'm leaning on either a place in the closet (partner is concerned about smell) or under the window. Bedroom is cramped so it'd take some Tetrising to figure out where to go.

I vote closet. Less interference in temps from whatever you have your AC set on and they like dark, secluded areas.
Windows that let in sunlight can be a real pain when it comes to reptile enclosures. Takes almost no time for something in direct sunlight to heat up way more than you ever wanted it to.

Re: Finding Her a Place to Live
If we're able to take her home (less likely because turns out mother-in-law can't stand snakes...), closet's probably most likely idea. The weather's been hugely bipolar lately and want to reduce temperature issues.
