Should I be concerned?

So when we got George my bp, he ate right after we brought him home. We've had him on a schedule of feeding once a week. He's only about a year old so I was immediately concerned when he didn't eat on Thursday. We've been trying to feed him but he wont eat. I know some snake to off food for a while, but I am concerned with the fact that he is still growing and needs more than an adult. Any words of reassurance or tips? Should I be concerned?

How much does your BP weigh? If your BP is over a few hundred grams, than it can fast for a few weeks no problem. Fasts are most problematic in small snakes, a short fast by a yearling shouldn't worry you too much. Your snake could be off feed for hundreds of reasons including an upcoming shed. Carefully check all of your husbandry, see if anything has changed. Stop handling for a week and try again.

If nothing has changed, and the snake is not stressed, then eating should resume sometime in the next month or so.

He only weighs about 75g. We've been handling him much less, and his humidity is set at a consistent 50% and temp 80°f. He hasn't shown many signs of possible shedding other than a slight blue gray tint to the top of his head.

Hi, first thing is to triple check your husbandry. Sounds like you may be on the short end of having a hot spot of 90F. Or maybe you just didn't include it in the post. Consider putting in a tighter hide (smaller) and definitely no handling for now. Only go in to change water and spot clean. One attempt at feeding per 5 to 7 days. You should be closer to success by implementing this as a starting point. Good luck.

Also eyes going blue is a sign of a shed so you might want to up humidity to 60% and follow previous post advice on other things to do and check on.
