Herpstat vs Temp Gun in a Glass Enclosure

Hey guy, I wanted to bring up a point and see what everyone elses thoughts on the Issue.

I'm in a glass enclosure, until my AP arrives, and I have a UTH as well as a lamp set up, each on its own channel in the Herpstat 2.
This is how it's ordered from bottom to top (see pictures)
    1: UTH
    2: Channel 1 prob
    3: Glass
    4: Substrate 1/8" to 1/4" thick
    5: Hide
6: Channel 2 Prob sitting on top of the Hide
7: Accurite temp stuck on the back glass half way up
8: Lid with Lamp on top and Foil on it to hold in heat.

Channel one (UTH) is set to 93 degrees while it holds the temperature on the prob perfectly, when I shoot the substrate it read 83-85 when I move the substrate and shoot the glass directly it only reads 85-87. I wanted to get a feedback from people that have ran into this issue and see their solution. I'm assuming the air gap caused from the prob and the glass itself are causing the heat to disperse and lower, I however don't want to just start ramping up temps and take a chance on causing a burn, without making 110% sure that is the next step to take.

Try getting temp gun readings from other places on the hot side but not where the UTH is. Maybe the UTH doesn't work?? What is Chan 2 set at?

Bump UTH up a few degrees and measure the glass after awhile. Thermostat is going to read a little hotter than the glass. The probe for the lamp would have me more worried. If the snake sits on it or knocks it out of the way the lamp is going to run hot.

I checked the heating pad it is warm to the touch.
Channel 2 it set to 91 degrees and it's the one setting on top of the rock.

I agree, but i'm not sure where to place it to keep the "Basking" spot at the right temp, where do you think is the best way to place or mount the prob?
