sick snake?
Okay, I've had my Ball for about a month now and when i woke up this morning he was sitting on his basking rock, well i noticed that he started moving backwards and and convulsing different parts of his body as well as opening his mouth.
what causes a snake to do this? I'm also making a vet appointment just to make sure he is okay
btw he hasn't ate since i got him and his cause is in perfect heat and humidity.
any help would be appreciated!!

Pics of the set up would help alot, what are your trying to feed, and have your tried something different... if your trying f/t mice try f/t rats or try live.... if using f/t are you positive your getting it hot enough, are you feeding in the cage or do you move to a seperate feeding area

I was trying to feed him live mice, its what the breeder fed him..
he however died a couple minutes after making this post, he's moved around a little bit more and then took his last breath.
I had him in a tank until the t-10 came in, with a herpstat 2 controlling the UTH, with good humidity. there wasn't any spikes or drops in temps.
No air freshners were used around the house.
The breeder said that he feed him 4 mice before we picked him up, so its only been a month since he ate.
With all the research i've done, the cage was set up well and i don't think it was any environmental issues. I didn't even have time to make a phone call to the vet before he passed away very sad day, i really liked the little guy! RIP

Sorry to hear that happened, maybe someone else could shine some light on what happened. I have never experienced anything like that.

That's weird. How old was the snake? I don't know where this threshold is with BPs, but with garters you can see unknown congenital issues popping up until they're about a year old. Could've been something like that.
Just to be safe it would probably be good to replace bedding and do a thorough cleaning of any equipment/decor he touched before putting another animal in there though.
