Hey guys, my name is Chevy. Though you're free to call me Chev, or Prahanien/Prah. I'm an artist of all sorts. I live in middle Tennessee and I'm just starting to get into snakes!

I've kept a lot of exotic pets over time, but I've never really had any reptiles. Closest I came was caring for a friend's firebelly newts for a while. I last had some sugar gliders.
Then I met my boyfriend! So soon after, I met his leopard gecko... and it started from there. He had always been a reptile fan but he never had anyone to share it with. We found out early on we shared a love for animals, so he spent a while teaching me about different lizards and looking at geckos with me to see what I liked. And there were so many I really fell in love with! Since then I've gotten him a skink, and recently we picked up a new leopard gecko. Repticon is in August and he's set on getting a crestie.

I really liked all these lizards and was trying to figure out which I'd go for... but then I remembered I always had been drawn to snakes. When I'd talk about snakes to people, I always said I liked pythons a lot because of their head shape. It never really went too much further than that until recently - we have a pet shop near us that carries reptiles and exotics (local, not a chain, so it's much preferable to a Petsmart or so). We decided a couple times to look around and see what they had (the first time is when I bought him the skink). The second and most recent time, they had a pastel ball python. I couldn't stop looking at him, so I asked to hold him... I almost cried. I decided right there I'd go for snakes. My boyfriend told me later that he was paying close attention to my face and how I reacted to it, and he was just telling me "Well, that sealed your fate towards getting a snake." He's right, heh.

I decided I'll let my boyfriend keep lizards and I'd go for the snakes. I picked up some supplies and I'm ready for my snakes now, though I'm waiting til August so I can choose them from Repticon. In the meantime I'm visiting the shop I mentioned and another one that specializes in reptiles so I can look at their snakes to hold me over.

I am, of course, planning on at least one ball python. I have means for two setups... the other may be another ball python or a boa of some sort, we'll see.

For the record, I affectionately call ball pythons "beeps" (ball python -> BP -> beep). I try not to when I talk on here, but I'm certain to slip.
(also, super cool to see other girls here into snakes. When I held the pastel, these girls in there started screaming...)

So far everyone seems a lot friendlier and more helpful than a lot of other forums, so I chose this one. Excited to get to know everyone!
