Question about shipping

I'm shipping my first ball python hatchling and was wondering about heat packs. I love in Florida where the lows are 72. The snake is shipping to Washington state where the high/low is 69 and 50. Do I need to use a heat pack?

I'd ask the company you're using to ship. They often have rules and guidelines.

Generally speaking, in summer I don't ship with any heatpacks.

To ship you need to know the temps at origin when shipping which will be around 6 pm (I will assume), the temps at the main hub where your snake will remain between about 11pm to 4 or 5 am, and destination where it will arrive in most cases by 10.30 am unless it is a remote place.

Lows are at night obviously.

How do I find out where the hub is at. I just know the temps for the delivery city which are 50-69

A good app to know the temps on hourly basis is AcuWeather

As for the main hub you will not know until you print the label it works with the first letter

Usually with temps of 60 and up it is best not to use a heat pack.

So I'm still struggling with using a heat pack. I checked all of the possible hubs and their highs are in the 80's and lows in the 70's. And Florida is crazy hot. It's only at the destination that is cool. I'm afraid the snake will overheat in those temps. I have asked people in my Facebook pages and I am getting different answers

I wouldn't. Snakes are ok at expos for a few hours at room temp (70-72*F). Too hot will kill it. Also it's not likely it will be sitting outside for very long either.
