    Introducing Manasa

My first BP (also first reptile for that matter), Manasa. Picked her up at an expo at the start of the month, breeder said she was ~8 months old.

Now that I've finally gotten her tank set up right, had her initial vet checkup and gotten her to feed, can get around to uploading pictures

Thanks to everyone who helped me out with tank advice earlier this month

    Posing for the camera

    Making friends with my wife

Caught her chilling in her tree thisaft. The fake plants I put in for decoration/cover actually helped a lot with my humidity issues, when combined with the small bowl of moss.

Guess snakes aren't fans of the vet either. After helping the vet check a scale on her belly, she crawled up my wrist and did not want to let go. Took a surprising amount of effort to gently uncurl her and put her back in the carrier

Boy she really is hanging on tight at the Vet's office.
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

Depends on how well I can persuade the Supreme Command Authority (read: wife). May just "accidentally" have one follow me home next year when it comes time to upgrade Manasa to a larger tank

Probably going to go with corn snake next, for variety. I am a long-time Cub Scout leader, and intend (once large/settled enough) to use Manasa and/or any other snakes for a yearly educational session for the kids. Someone came in and did that once when I was Cub, and it was the highlight of the year for me
