Spider wobble in normals?
Can normal ball pythons from a clutch with spider in it have the head wobble? I have heard that they can but I just want to know if this is true or not?

No, they should not have the wobble. The wobble is in the spider gene only (well, it is in the woma gene as well but we are talking spiders here). A normal ball python (even one born from a spider clutch) does not carry a spider gene at all no matter what the parents are. So they should not have a wobble and if they do, a vet visit is very important.

I thought the head wobble was sometimes common in newborns and fades as they grow, for all morphs

Not that I ever heard of.

It depends
on how tightly linked the wobble gene is to the spider gene. It seems very tightly linked so the chance is very small that a normal could have the spider wobble. The only way it could happen is during a crossing over event that occurred between the spider gene and the wobble gene. This assumes that two genes are at play and are very tightly linked. It is also possible that the wobble defect is a result of the spider gene. If this is true then it is impossible for a normal to have the wobble, unless there is a new mutation that causes wobble in normals.
I suspect but cannot prove that the spider wobble is not actually two genes. I suspect the spider gene causes a defect in coloration and a defect in neuronal structure or function. If I am correct then the two traits cannot be separated.
