Little Confused

So I've had my snake for about six months and I love her to death! She's never bitten me or anything and there are times she'll just lay on my belly for hours and it's the sweetest thing. However sometimes, she does this thing where it looks like she gets into striking position. Aimed towards me. It happens only every once in awhile and I managed to get this time on video. But she's not hungry, she was just fed around 3-4 days ago. Nothing has really changed in her environment, so I always wonder what's going on when she does this. Tell me what you guys think. Any thoughts would be appreciated!



Also I'm sure she didn't appreciate the camera in her face, but she's done this once or twice before without there being a camera in her face.

Mine does this every once and a while. I just pick him up any way and he never has bit me. I think it is just a defensive posture. Maybe your snake doesn't want to be handled.

Yeah I figured it was her letting me know to leave her alone, so I didn't pursue picking her up or anything. I just wondered if there could be any other reason. I remember one time I literally wasn't even looking at her or really close to her cage or anything. But when I turned around and looked at her cage, there she was, staring at me haha and I have no idea how long she'd been doing that. Oh well, I guess it's nothing to be too concerned about.

My young male does the same thing sometimes. I can't decide if he's being defensive or wanting me to get him out of his tank.

Not to worry! To me that doesn't look like a completely aggressive position. If you are worried about her striking when removing her, just take a paper towel roll and nudge her on the nose to break the tension. I do this with my large pythons and boas and it works like a charm if I feel like they are being aggressive.

My snake does that whenever me and my boyfriend make loud noises even when the tv is on

Oh I'm not to worried about her striking, it's not too painful to get bit after all. I'm just trying to figure out what the little girl wants. If I'm upsetting her or what. Perhaps I was making a noise or movement she didn't like haha. I love reptiles but they can be so tricky to read lol.
