Re: Is this an orange dream? Urgent
of all the morphs that you can tell by looking, i think the OD is the hardest and that is because i have never seen a truly orange OD. They all have just a hint of it, which can also happen in a normal. of course a normal with a hint of orange won't pass it on whilst an OD might
the best OD's i have seen always seem to have something else in them, like YB or enchi. if you love it as a pet then get it, but if you want to make money, i don't think he OD is going to take off in a way some people think

Looks like one to me.
Here's a video J. Kobylka made about Orange Dreams: https://youtu.be/3BuOh0RJF2M

So is this close enough to an orange dream that its worth a shot? What are the markers?
I don't need just another pet, but I do want an orange dream to breed morphs I like. I dont care if they take off financially.
I know its hard to tell but there has got to be some markers or something.

Nope, Normal. Your not giving enough information for others to help you. Who is selling it? what does the seller say it is? Can he prove it?.....My guess is your trying to find something in a normal that just isn't there. You can buy a true OD from a reputable breeder for pretty cheap so don't waste your time here. If you even have to ask then you already know that it isn't. And trying to prove it out through breeding is not a good project.

Re: Is this an orange dream? Urgent
With a subtle morph like the OD, my advice is this: if you have a question, don't buy. Purchase an OD from someone that you trust, or that will guarantee the purchase. Anything else is a risk (and risks aren't bad, but it doesn't sound like that's what you're wanting with this).

Re: Is this an orange dream? Urgent
As I told you in the other thread, contact Ozzy and ask him to ID the snake in your pictures because he started the OD project and he's the resident expert. All we can offer you is best practices and our opinion, which is impacted by photo lighting, the source of the ball python being sold, price, etc.
Here's what I saw, so it can be proven or disproven for you by an expert: To me, it looks like an OD because it's got the creamy coloring and almost-enchi-like fade along its sides, as well as the heavy orange flames. It also has the reduced pattern that looks similar to the OD in the video I linked. That said, the others who replied are correct - it could very well be a normal that has similar qualities, and the gene is already hard to differentiate from wild caughts. I could very well be totally wrong about what I see. Some people have said the belly has similar markers as some het. pieds, while in the video I linked he says the belly is unremarkable and there are no markers. That means people can't even agree on markers yet. It's ultimately up to you if you want to gamble with your money and time on this snake. But getting info directly from the source of the gene is the best chance you have.

Good luck with that. Ozzy is certainly a great guy, but most breeders won't stick their name to an animal they didn't produce.
