    Small Petco Improvement?

So I was in Petco the other day to get a cone for my German Shepherd and saw free pamphlets that they provide for animals they sell. Thought this was pretty cool.

I went through the pamphlet and most of the info is good but they're still writing that you should feed in a seperate container because of cage agression...

At least they're making small improvements.

I've seen those in mine. IIRC the information in it was more wrong than right but it's been years since I've read it.

The stores near me (both petco and petsmart) have had these for a good while. While a lot of the information is pretty obviously geared towards getting you to buy more stuff, it's better than people just wandering in and out with an animal they don't know jack about. The pamphlets petsmart carries and their aquatic specialists were actually really helpful in getting my fish tank setup, so I would forgive the money-grubbing for that.

As a former pet store employee I really hated those damn things. Lots of inaccurate info in them so when they come to find an associate they're saying things like "but the pamphlet says this..." I know. I know what it says. But it's only half right. I didn't write it >_< Honestly if you're going to get an animal just do your own research. Don't rely on some kid who makes $7/hour to tell you everything about a particular animal. I was lucky that I worked at a store where the employees actually cared and were enthusiasts about a lot of the animals we sold.

    Re: Small Petco Improvement?

Yeah my petcos have always had those, except not for any of the animals they sold! Now they seem to be closing all over the place.

I've also been going to petsmart, and I was surprised at the improvement. They actually had bp morphs and they were being kept right, as well as all the other reptiles. It's not just throw everything on gravel/ sand with a random wattage heat light. They're trying now... F/t have rigamortis(spelling?) set in the feet and tails though.
