    Missing scales help?

    I checked on one of my girl's today noticed she had a pretty big chunk missing in the middle of her head I looked all around her enclosure for any sharp objects or edges and nothing it doesn't look red or infected but any tips or suggestions I may take her to the vet after work if need be...:\

    The first thing that comes to mind is maybe there is something rather rough in the cage that she rubbed against. Check through out the enclosure to see if maybe her hides have some sharp/rough edges or perhaps there's something at the top of the cage that could have caught against her. My smallest bp, Ickus, tends to explore at night and will get into the strangest areas of his tub.

    Judging from the picture it doesn't look too bad. Of course you can see her in person so check and see if the area looks red and swollen. If so there could be some infection. Me being the person I am I would take the snake to a vet just to have it checked out but if you're comfortable with how it looks you can just keep an eye on it.

    Is that normally one whole scale? Or is it a cluster of many small scales? If it's one big scale then it could be a dry spot. My pastel had a few dry spots and after shedding this morning they are gone.
