I have a thread for my other 2 snakes but not for the family BP. With this being a BP forum, I figured I would start my BP thread. The Family BP is named Racer. My son when he was younger came up with the name the day we picked up the snake. My son wanted the snake to be a boy but I think he is a she. Racer was the first snake in the family and I thought at the time I knew enough for proper care but after finding the forum, I found out I had more to learn. That is how I found this forum and the knowledge here surely helped out in the beginning.
Racer was rescued from a petsmart. We stopped by to just look around. As usual the kids and I went to look at the snakes and my wife reluctantly asked if we wanted to bring home a ball python. Of Course my son was jumping up and down yelling yes and I was like "um, yea, are you sure"? I had to even get Racer out of the holding enclosure because the petsmart employee was scare to reach in and pick her up.
This past March was 3 years that Racer has been in the Family. She just shed the other day and has made it to 1545g. Using the forum and google I built a custom enclosure for her last year that has turned out awesome. I have a thread for it . Here I makes it very easy to manage her husbandry than the fish tank she started in.
