    A mom question: cat presents?

😷 I really don't know what's gotten into my MIL but she wants me to ask ya'll...if it's safe to freeze rats my cats bring in? I guess they always bring them to her fresh in the morning and she ACTUALLY bagged one for me and woke me up and said, "Can I put this in the freezer for Boots?" Can you imagine my face? Here it is!
They bring them to her constantly!

Absolutely not. You have no idea what kind of internal/external parasites that thing has, or even if it ever ingested any kind of poison. Wild prey is not a good thing to give to captive snakes.

No. You have no idea what parasites, viruses, or diseases a rat from the outside is carrying.
It is okay to use pine bedding for snakes.
It is okay to feed live food to snakes.

Thank you! That is exactly what I said and I told her to dispose of it. It's rather large but not worth the risk!

No. Wild mice and rats will have parasites that they can pass on to your snakes. Though a cat run snake food delivery service would be convenient, it's not a good idea.

I agree with the others, but I still think it's awesome that your MIL is thinking of your snake

The other day I took away a juvenile bunny from my dog about the size of a large rat that she had just killed. And so close to feeding day!

As temping as it was, in the trash it went!!!
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.
