    Next shed?

My currently 9 month old ball python has only shed three times, twice when he was with the breeder before I bought him in December and once in the middle of January. Currently, he is slowly darkening and much like last time, the skin around his neck has loosened. There is no evidence of eye hazing yet, do you think he is close to shedding?

Sounds like a shed cycle is about to occur. My female normal is the exact same way right now and she is going into a shed cycle.

Thank-You for answering. I will look for stronger evidence of an impending shed such as hazed eyes, then I'll bump the humidity up. What would be an ideal humidity percentage?

For humidity you should shoot for 50% to 60%. That should be adequate enough for a decent shed.

My humidity is constantly at 55%. But I'll raise it to 60% for the shed process. Thank-You so much for your input.
