Today I was looking really forward to getting my new first baby Ball Python. Last Wednesday I went to a pet store and checked on getting a BP. They didn't have any at the time and was expecting some in yesterday. The price was $40. I was really looking foward to going by and picking up one today. So I've had my tank setup and playing with the temps and humidity and figuring all that stuff out. So anyway, I went by there today and asked if they got the BP's in and they said "No, the guy we get them from is out right now but we still got them on order and it will be about two weeks at the earliest before we get them in." Well, I sure didn't want to hear that. So I went back home and decided to drive 35 miles one way to another store that my wife and I got our kids hamster at that had 4 BPs last week. So I go down there and peep in the cage and there was 3 BP's in there. They are $70 each, I'm to the point I'm willing to pay the extra money cause I want one now!!! So I told the lady that I was wanting to get one today. So then she said, "Can you wait?". Here I am just driving down to get one and now I she wants me to wait...I asked her why do I need to wait. She said that the 3 that she has in there right now she just got in this morning and wanted to make sure they eat good. The 4 that she had last week when I was in getting the hamster was from another place that they never get them from and none of them would eat. They've tried everything and they just wouldn't eat so she was sending them back to the place where they got them from. The 3 that she got this morning is from the place that she normally gets them and has never had a problem with them eating...so she just wants to make sure....I was like, ok. So she got my name and number and supposed to call me Friday and let me know what happens then I can go by and get one if they eat. So, I left there disappointed but nothing I can do but wait and play with my temps and stuff some more. Right now I got my kids rubber cobra sitting in the tank for effect...lol. But this will give me this weekend to look forward to.
