    I would dare to say that the fact that the OP is taking time to ask the opinions of other experienced individuals, rather than just guessing indicates that he cares, and is going through the right motions to provide proper husbandry for the animal.

    To the OP..Thank you for being a responsible large python owner and seeking guidance rather than winging it. Large snakes can absolutely be a handful and you must make sure that you understand their care. Too many times do people go blindly into this.
