I bought a Vanilla BP 3 weeks ago (March 31). She is two years old and when I bought her I could tell the breeder was trying to save money by feeding her less as she was a bit skinny. No big deal, I know how to get a snake back up to size and it really did not throw any doubts about the breeder. Today I was cleaning the tubs and noticed that the Vanilla has retained eye caps, in both eyes. I personally have not dealt with this. Usually if one of my snakes have a stuck shed (usually around the chin, top of the head), with their next shed they usually get the old shed off so I really do not worry about it, but I always hear about how bad stuck eye caps can be. I do not know if it is only one retained eye cap or multiple. It looks to be only one and she does not seem to have any visual problems. Should I wait and see what happens with her next shed? I think it may be too late for me to attempt to get them off, plus she is very shy, not snappy but she balls up and tucks her head under herself. Should I wait, make a vet appointment, will it harm her and when should I start to worry?
