    Baby pastel ate!!

I got this female pastel last weekend at repticon in Costa mesa. I weighed her and she is tiny and looked thin at 61gs. I stressed all week but just left her alone in her enclosure hoping that letting her get fully settled before trying to feed would be a good idea.

Well I fed my growing tribe today and everybody ate enthusiastically even the albino stuck in shed.

This girl didn't eat!!! I offered her a rat crawler and she just looked freaked out. She struck at it twice but either missed, or was trying to scare off the rat crawler. I'll never know.

But I just left the crawler in there and just now after sundown I checked on her and she had wrapped the crawler and started eating it. Man I'm super relieved.

Long post, I know, but I'm just super stoked all 7 snakes are eating and no foreseeable problems with feeding until I try to get everyone on f/t.

So here's the little female pastel

I really like her pattern. Looks like she's already got some good blushing on her sides and peeking through between the stripe on her Back. Glad she ate for you.

I have seven myself, glad I just wanted one. It's such a great feeling when they all eat. I've kept mostly boas for the last thirty years, with a couple of life interruptions. It's hard when your use to snakes eating regularly, then you try keeping balls. I recently played with their temps, bumped everything about two to three degrees. So far it's been great. Good luck!

Thanks for the support on this forum. Now that she has eaten her first meal with me I can go back to daydreaming what to breed her with lol

I would like to produce more pastels with her stripe, non-jungle pattern.
