I got my ball python about two months ago, and she's almost 5 months old now. When we first got her we tried feeding frozen, which she refused twice, but as soon as we got fresh killed she ate and has since been eating very well. We give her an adult mouse once a week and her feeding response is always great, she's shed once and had a little stuck but got most of it off herself, and overall seems to be doing really well. Since she eats regularly I've been starting to handle her and I think she's starting to get used to me; if others are around or I let someone else hold her she usually stays balled up but as soon as she's in my hands and nobody's around she starts exploring. I usually keep her out for 30 minutes or so, generally until she starts trying to find places to hide because I figure that means she's done lol. However, whenever I put her back instead of going right for her hide she always explores the tank and almost seems to be trying to get out. I'm just wondering if maybe that's her saying she wants to be out longer or maybe that she's unhappy with the tank? Temps are 78-90 from the cold to hot side and she has two hides and a big water dish, and humidity hovers around 55%. She's also got some plants and branches and her tank is kept in a dark closet where nobody disturbs her. I've read that she may not feel secure and that could be why, but she only does this after I take her out. Anyone have any ideas what this means? It may mean nothing, I'm just overly cautious, she's just my first BP and I want to make sure I'm taking care of her as best as possible. (:
