    Weird shed

Hi everyone My boy Malachi had his first shed with me! It appears to be all in one piece which I'm very happy about because when I first got him for a while he was in a glass aquarium and the humidity was just pitiful.. he was always dry So I bought a nice rack (Reptile basics rack) and today I open him up and find a full shed! So yay racks lol

Anyways...I'm just wondering something about this shed. It looks weird It's like he somehow tied it in a bow? I'm not sure how he did this. I've always seen them either one long thing or bits and pieces.

Here's a pic of it. Is this normal? This is exactly how I found it. It's like wrapped together in the middle?

When a ball python has reached a very high level of affection for its owner, they are known to make accessories for said owner. It's a beautiful bow, mine gave me a bandanna last week. Congrats!!!

    All joking aside, perfectly normal

That's perfectly normal. Just wait until he ties a rat tail into a knot with his tongue for you!

Lol! You guys are awesome XD Thank you for the reassurance! He also left me a nice big poop so I'm a happy owner lmao

Now that I have this shed...what do you guys do with it? I almost want to keep it because it's his first one with me you know? Do you guys throw it away? Collect 'em? Give em away?

When it's an especially fun shed that shows patterns and that kind of stuff I show my wife, who then rolls her eyes at me, asks why I showed her another one, calls me a dork, and I head back into the snake room with a goofy smile on my face. Most of the time, though, they just get tossed in the trash and I move on with my cleaning tasks.

    Re: Weird shed

Yeah. I kept my snakes first shed for a while. However, once you accumulate a decent collection, keeping them isnt as fun because you see them so often haha. More often than not, they're soiled in urine and poop anyway. Haha.

Keep it if you want! It's a good reminder that you're doing it right!
