What makes you associate the above behaviors with going into shed? It sounds to me like it's just a BP doing what a BP does - hanging out in his hide, every now and again missing a meal, not being very active, etc, etc, etc. Personally, I'd associate his behavior with him becoming more comfortable in his enclosure - especially since he's back to slamming rats again.

Honestly, it sounds like you've got some "helicopter parent syndrome" going on and you're over-thinking the little things. Keep being observant, and keep asking questions, but try not to stress yourself out too much.
