Reptile Basics 5-Rack Flat Pack Info
I've been shopping around looking for a CB-70 rack for the past couple of weeks, looking at the AP. boaphile, Cserpent, and other racks. I've been able find good information and experience from searching the forums on most of these different types of racks; however, I have not been able to find much information about Reptile Basics 5-Rack Flat Pack Rack. It is similar the the ap racks in that it does not come pre-assembled. It seems like a good alternative to the AP racks at 350 bucks including shipping, without AP's long lead times. I know reptile basics has a good reputation on their other pre-made racks such as the CB70 model that is 3 tall, but I'd like some more info on this 5 rack as it seems like a more economical choice. The only thing that is preventing me from ordering one is the lack of reviews or feedback concerning this rack.
So, does anybody on here have any experience using this rack?

Great rack. I'm using two of them currently stacked on top of one another and am about to purchase two more to do the exact same thing. They hold heat well...though my top and bottom tubs run a bit cooler than the rest of the rack which is to be expected. I like the tubs they use as well...fairly sleek and slide very well. I'd absolutely recommend the rack, best I've used for the price as long as you don't mind 10-20 mins of assembly. Keep in mind that you need to order the tubs separately, but they are reasonably priced and you can order them in semi-bulk if you're buying more than one rack.
Plus, he gets them to you super quick..I think I had the rack before the tubs arrived.

Re: Reptile Basics 5-Rack Flat Pack Info
Thank you for the info! The assembly part is no problem for me. Are you using CB70 tubs with the rack of the "container store" tubs? I was also wondering about the holes on the each shelf of the rack. Are you required to the thread the heat tape through those slots or is it possible to thread the heat tape on the inside of the rack, similar to the AP racks?
Either way, I think i might just go with this rack. Having them shipped out within a few days makes it pretty tempting, especially with your recommendation.

Yep, I use tubs from the container store which work fine. Those slots on the side are just for installing the heat tape when you are weaving it through the rack (so you can access it to pull it down level-by-level). Once installed, the Flexwatt all sits on the interior of the rack like you would imagine. Hopefully the way I described that makes sense!

Awesome, yeah that makes sense. Thanks for the help. I just ordered one. I was pretty close to ordering one before even without the info, but this gives me some piece of mind. All of reptile basics other racks seem to get great reviews from people on here.
