Scale help! Patches of strange scales and small lines

The title says it all. I have a high white pied Ball Python, November 2014, and along the sides of his mid section he has multiple scales that look like small indents. He also has two patches of scales that look distorted and slightly shriveled also along his side, but he has no signs of scale rot. Would anyone happen to know what this is? He's had these indents since I got him a month ago, and my Yellowbelly has never shown signs of this. The best I can describe the indents is it looks like multiple millimeter long nicks on his sides. Help me!

More then likly since they have been there since you got him its probably old wounds, maybe from something with sharp edges on his old cage to damaged scales from a little rat/mouse bit at feeding time but giving us a pic will help narrow it down alot faster
