Hey guys I picked up my first boa a couple days ago and was wondering what morph he was and what size his meal should be. He's 328 g

Not sure on morph, he looks like a normal to me. Clean looking. What was he sold to you as? As for food, what was he fed when you got him. Generally you want to feed him something that is as big as his widest part. And on boas, smaller is better for feeding so if anything, I would feed him something smaller for the first few feedings until you get him eating consistently and more comfortable. For boas the whole 10-20% of their weight as food doesn't apply as boas aren't pythons and are meant to remain in a bread loaf shape. Generally I feed mine once a week until they are about 1.5 years old. Then I switch them to every 2 weeks until they are 3 years old. Then every 3-4 weeks but Rosey gives me puppy dog eyes all the time usually every 2 weeks so I cave in and feed her every 2 weeks but she is a bit on the chunky side.

My sunglow is 350g and he gets either a rat pup or large mouse every 10 days.

Thanks for the info guys. He was fed adult mice or so the guy told me. He was sold to me as a hypo boa. I'm not to savy with the boa morphs so I just accepted that as his morph . I paid 80$ for him. Was this price excessive?

I'm not seeing the hypo as hypo saddles are usually pinched in the middle. his sides do look light though but hard to tell from the picture. Regardless though, $80 is not excessive for the snake, seems about normal price and like I said, pretty clean looking pattern. I would stick to adult mice then for a month or so until he settles in and then if you need to go up a size, then you can do it at that time. Better to start off on smaller foods as the snake gets used to its house.

Congrats on the new baby. Might be hypo, like sauzo said it looks a bit lighter. After a few weeks of feeding mice you might want to try to get her on rats. The earlier you can make this transition the better. Much better nutritional density and allows feeding one appropriately sized meal, rather than a ton of mice as it gets bigger. Most boas make the transition fine. My favorite boa did refuse rats forever until she made the switch. Good luck! Have fun!
