    Birthday present

Hubs bought me a white phase albino retic female for my birthday from Bob Clark. She's so tiny! Well.... For now. Lol

Her umbilicus is not fully healed. is there anything special I need to do/be aware of?

    I'm just thrilled!

    She's so calm

Congrats, looking at your snake list, I notice you only have BP listed, is this your only other species to have worked with? The difference between a BP and a retic is night and day, so make sure you are ready for what's ahead.

Just a slight notice of concern - the dot / spots on your snake looks like it could be mites. When I got my white phase back in 2012 from Bob, it came with a nice case of mites, but it's easily fixed with proper QT and mite procedures, I'd be on the watch out!

There is a lot to cover in regards of what to expect with a retic, but at this point I don't know what your background with snakes is enough to give you more information to go with. If you run into particular questions, let me know.

    Cheers

    Re: Birthday present

My experience is mainly ball pythons, I had a boa and two blood pythons(deceased ) and I've got a corn snake and the ball pythons.

I did pretreat her tank (temp home) with PAM before she got here, just in case. I'm glad I did.

She IS going to be in another part of the house from my other snakes and we wash hands after handling all the snakes.

Thank you much, I will most certainly come here to scream for help!

I will admit I was a bit surprised at how small she was. But I'm totally in love with this little girl.

    Birthday present

Dumb question here, do you think she will yellow out as she gets older?

She looks great. I can only imagine what she will look like when she is a year old.

    Re: Birthday present

I'm looking forward to seeing how she's going to change and grow. She's much more relaxed than my ball pythons, even my 'surfer snakes' Jenova and Sid.
