Strange behavior

Even though this is absolutely beautiful, I have never seen her pose like this. Why is she curling her tail this way?

Maybe the hotspot is too hot.
Maybe the hides do not feel secure.
Maybe the hotspot is not hot enough.
Maybe its just being weird.

Even though this is absolutely beautiful, I have never seen her pose like this. Why is she curling her tail this way? Looks absolutely normal for the position she is in. However, its possible she is getting ready to move and change her position. Remember a bps tail is a very sensitive structure and plays a very big role in balance and equilibrium especially when the animal is climbing and navigating heights and distances. As well, the tail is instrumental in breeding and grasping structures. So, just keep a eye on her and look out for any disability in the way she uses the tail. Enjoy. Stay in peace and not pieces. Looks normal to me. Mine makes all sorts of weird shapes when she is climbing stuff.

She loves to climb. She switches hiding between the log and beside the water pool.

Are you only using lamps?

If so it is very possible that the hides are not warm enough for its liking so it is seeking a new warm spot by climbing and basking which is abnormal for a BP. The heat from a lamp is never going to heat a half log hide. If it is set up as the warm hide I would switch it for the black plastic one.

She stays hidden 75 - 80% of the time. I used to use a heat pad under a hide, but she rarely went into that hide. I took in out and she alternates... I have considered putting a heat pad under the tub/fountain. To keep the water temperature warmer.

Totally normal. You don't need to modify. As long as your temps are correct you're all good.

I'm more surprised your BP is actually outside willingly. Like I said, Dottie only comes out for 4 reasons.....poop, food, water, or to move from cool hide to warm hide or vise versa. I have to lift her hide and take her out, then she usually will sit on me and periscope around till she gets bored and then curl up on me. And yeah I would probably switch out that wood half log. I use Reptile Basic hides for both Dottie and Vicky and they love em. Well Dottie loves her and Vicky has decided going ninja mode under aspen with just her nose and eyes sticking out is cooler. But the RBI hides will soak up heat. I use them under CHEs and then get nice and warm. I also throw a wet paper towel on top of the warm hide which creates a nice humidity too. And best of all, they are pretty cheap.
