My snakes wont eat
I have had Spot and Pepper for 4 years they were rescues that I kept. I have had snakes all my life and have never had 2 just stop eating for this long. Ther are healthy but spot is losing weight and I think I am going to lose him. I need help. The last time they ate was last July.

Re: My snakes wont eat
Have you tried feeding live? F/t? Snakes can go up to a year without eating, but that doesn't mean they should.

What is your husbandry like?
How big is the cage, describe your hides, temps, humidity?
Are you handling your BP often?
What did you use to feed (prey size, how often, how)
BP can go months even a year without any issues and very little weight loss now if one is losing weight dramatically there could be another issue such as internal parasites.
Going of feed can be seasonal, stress related (which can happen over time even if animal have been kept in the same manner for years), link to diseases etc.

The tank is about 78degrees 50%humidity they used to do just fine with these temps they will only eat live food. I used to handle them regularly but when they stopped eating I tried not holding them.

Are you tracking his weight? What did he weigh in July and what does he weigh now?
It is okay to use pine bedding for snakes.
It is okay to feed live food to snakes.

Because they were fine for years does not mean they will be fine forever (that's what I meant with stressing over time)
What is the temp on the hot side?
Are they house together?
How tight are their hides?
How do you feed?
How big were the prey?
What is the size of the snakes? (weight?)

Re: My snakes wont eat
Pepper weighs about 6 lbs and spot only weighs about 3. Spots skin is lose peppers is normal the hot side of the tank is 83. Spot weighed almost 5 lbs when we moved.

They usually eat medium sized rats

Just as an FYI, grams are usually used for weight. They're a lot more granular.
Anyways, it sounds like Spot has gone from around 2250+ grams to around 1350g. That is actually a lot of weight to lose. It sounds like you may want to get him (or possibly both) to a specialized herp vet to check for parasites (or any other problems).

I don't have a scale any more sorry and the nearest herp vet is 400 miles away

If he has lost that much, that trip would be worth it. Your tank should be about 80 ambient and 90 hot spot. About 60% humidity.
Are they housed together?
Fed in the tank?
Fed at night or?
0.1 Lesser Pastel
1.0 Black Spooky Kitty
0.1 Faye Tiny Kitty
?.? Feral Cat Colony
And more on the way always....
