If you own enough snakes for long enough you will get tagged sooner or later and if it's a BP even a large one it really not that bad there are bites from other animals that are a lot worse, rats, dogs, cats, horses............and yeah I have been bit by all of those (I am bite magnet )

I've been bitten by a horse too (When I about 5, antagonizing the poor thing, and probably deserved it!) and I do remember that one hurting. For a herbivore, their teeth are much sharper than I would expect.

And because they're grazers, they tend to only get small bites which are much worse than large bites

In my case I was 19 I was just putting the saddle on him, what apparently people failed to tell me is that horse was notorious for biting people for no reason, he left a large bruise on my upper arm that turned black within hours, I had that bruise for a month but was lucky. Good thing it was not a child instead of me either.

Reason you shouldn't really touch a stallion unless trained. They can get really aggressive if they reach sexual maturity and are not gelded. I think under National Hunt rules (British jumps racing) the horses must be gelded as they only race at ages 3+ and can go on to race until about 13! Can't have stallions in them races haha.

Not a stallion just a cribber which of course they did not disclose and apparently for him people's arm were as fair game as objects.

I've never been bit by any balls, but when I was 16 my 7 foot Colombian red tail boa bit my arm. I didn't even feel the bite, I just felt something dripping down my arm, I looked to find blood. Im sure if I didn't feel my boa bite, then a ball couldn't be that bad at all. If you've ever had to force feed, you will see their teeth are very small and thin like hairs.

Never with my first BP, only once with my current one at about 750g and 3', was watching TV with my cat, then afterwards went to put my snake in a tub to clean the cage, probably combo of weird scent and startling, felt like a gentle headbutt, was shocked to see tiny droplets of blood in a semi-circle on my hand, 5 minutes and a good wash later couldn't even see any marks on my skin. There is a possibility of infection, so cleaning with anti-microbial soap is a good idea, also washing hands BEFORE handling a snake if you have been handling other pets recently, and taking care not to startle the snake with extra care anytime rodents or food is anywhere near. There really isn't any pain, definitely nothing that lasts, it's the surprise that gets you, just like getting zapped by static electricity in the winter. The tiny needle teeth might barely break skin, but snakes produce an anti-coagulant, so if you bleed, it looks ridiculously worse than it really is. Worst I ever had was a tag to the arm from a buddy's big red tail boa I was helping with, got hit as the snake was pulling back, it stung pretty good at first like getting snapped by a rubberband, had a few tiny pinholes and a couple that ripped and scratched on the surface, looked like pro-wrestling bad, running blood dripping on the floor, literally 5 minutes later, and nothing, no pain, no blood, just a couple tiny scratches and pin pricks. IMO a hamster has a BP beat on it's potential to injure you with a bite, and unless you are talking about a full grown retic, or getting tagged in the face you really have nothing to worry about.

If you've ever been bitten or even nipped by a rat or mouse .... That hurts way worse than a ball python bite ..... Because it happens so quickly, it actually suprises/scares you more than it hurts .... Unless it's a feeding accident, it will be done before you even realized it happened

I've only been tagged once, and it was a defensive strike from a hatchling at the pet store I help out at. Didn't even leave a mark and my only thought was *awww how cute.*

Now getting tagged by one of the Parrots that boards at the store....that hurt like a mother and left way more of a mark.

I remember a parrot at a pet store doing the same. Then mum wanted to show me he was friendly, and got bit too, that hurt.

Lets see... Feeder mice, a TON of cat bites (I used to work with a shelter, and I run a feral colony), some dogs, a few horses (maaaan I got it hard once on my chest by a rude gelding... it was the worst hickey ever). I am honestly not even afraid of my BP biting me...
