Well in that case, if I were you, I would just use that cage until the snake fully stretched out goes the full length of the front and one side. Then I would look into something like an Animal Plastics T-8 which is less than $100 more than you would pay for a 40 gallon breeder(36x18x16). A T-8 is 48x24x12 which will easily hold even a large female BP for her whole life with room to spare and like I said, they are priced very good($195 shipped to me). It also depends how active your snake is. Ball pythons aren't known for their activity. Dottie only really comes out when she is hungry or she has to poop or wants to drink water. 90% of the time she is content to sit in her hide with just her head poking out. Now both my BCI boas are much more active so for them, they do need a larger cage as they use all the space.
