Question Changing substrate during shed question

My ball python appears to be in the early stages of the shed cycle since she's been in hiding for the last few days and it's been a while since I changed the substrate in her tank. Is there any way that I can change the substrate without stressing her out, or will I just have to wait until she's finished?

I'd just wait until she's finished. She's likely to poop when she sheds anyways.
It is okay to use pine bedding for snakes.
It is okay to feed live food to snakes.

Make that X3. I've had 5 shed out this week and 4 of them defected and urinated at the time of shedding, the 5th one held off till the next day.
    Cheers, Jeff
