    You might want to try some silicone smoothed into the cracks and allowed to dry for 24 hours. Then follow that up with a gel cement and dry for another 24 hours. That should be enough to protect the bp from injury but I wouldn't think about putting anything heavy in there. No water either. There is a glass repair kit at Auto Zone also for windshields as another option. Consider eventually going to something new. Good luck. Stay in peace and not pieces.
