That's why I kind of dread reptile shows. Best advice is when you get home from one of those, strip down to your shorts in the garage and wash your clothes and hop in the shower. And if you buy something from there, treat it like the plague. Unfortunately now you know why Best of luck, I've never had to deal with mites but people I have talked to said its a nightmare.

Since I've been a vendor at shows in other professions I would have expected a much higher level of professionalism.

I stripped the entire 6 foot tank... sprayed all decor with bleach/water. I sprayed the tank down with zoomed cleaner 1. Now I have to go over everything again with mite spray and spray my snake. sucks hard.

I personally don't like using bleach. You have to rinse REALLY well and if its anything porous, the bleach can soak in. I prefer to use Chlorhexadine as that stuff is safe. It's even used as an oral rinse in animals. Also try Natural Chemistry Reptile Spray. I personally have never used it as I have never had to deal with mites(knock on wood) but I've read a lot of people here saying it works great and is safe for the snakes. Can even be used on the snake.

Ya I am using the Natural Chemistry. Some mites still seem to be stuck in her scales so I reapplied on the exact spots and put her in a separate tub. I will check back tomm. I only used a tiny bit of bleach in the water bottle.

Ill look. I use zoomed wipeout and that seems to be a nice cleaner. Kills a broad spectrum of things and kills any smell.

baby girl looks mite free. Still have her in a separate rack tub. Will move her back in a couple days. She is a lot more docile now.
