I think it's like banana and coral glow. Pretty much the same thing, just called different. Sugar and calico do the same thing and react the same when combined with assorted genes (a caliders looks the same as a sugar spider, and a super pastel calico has the same noisy static that the super pastel sugar has).

Not in the traditional sense, no. In theory there should be a homozygous form, but speculation says it doesn't look any different than the regular form. If it exists, no one has found it yet, and knowing how many people must be trying/have tried leads me to believe it's a simple dominant trait (traits?).

As hatchlings do they already have all the white they will have or do they develop more as they grow up?

As with pieds they have all the white they will get. Now the white does get whiter as they age, but you will not have a low white that transforms into a high white.
